One file, nothing to sign up for. The video capture and the system-audio helper ship inside the app: no ffmpeg to install, no drivers.

macOS 13 or later

macOS

Apple Silicon. Hardware encoding with VideoToolbox and system audio with nothing to install.

On the way

Windows

The capture code already covers Windows; what is left is packaging it and testing it properly before publishing a build.

How to find out
On the way

Linux

Same as Windows: the code is there, the packaging and the testing are not.

How to find out

The first time you open it

Klaito needs screen recording permission, which is exactly what it does. macOS asks once, and you grant it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. That same permission is what lets it capture the audio coming out of your speakers, so there is no second one to grant.

After granting it you have to open the app again: macOS does not apply new permissions to a process that was already running.

Windows and Linux

The capture is cross-platform by design — the three systems share nearly all of the code — but only macOS is tested end to end today. As soon as there are builds for the other two, they will show up here.

Requirements

  • macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.
  • Free space for the buffer: around 175 MB with the default settings.
  • Nothing else: no account, no connection, no dependencies to install.
