The app
Klaito is a desktop application with no server behind it. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics and no automatic crash reports: there is no system to send data to, neither yours nor usage data.
Everything Klaito writes stays on your machine:
- Clips, recordings and screenshots, in the folder you chose. Klaito does not move them, does not recompress them behind your back and does not delete them — except the buffer's own temporary segments, which recycle themselves.
- Your settings, in a text file inside the application support folder. You can read it, edit it or delete it.
- A local activity log, so problems can be diagnosed. It stays on your disk and is never sent anywhere.
System permissions
Klaito asks for the minimum permissions it needs, and the operating system shows them to you before granting anything:
- Screen recording, required: it is what gets recorded. On macOS it is also the permission that allows capturing system audio.
- Microphone, only if you choose to record with a mic.
- Input monitoring, optional and off by default. It is only needed if you turn on observer mode for hotkeys, which lets the combination reach the game as well. In that mode Klaito compares keystrokes against your hotkeys and stores nothing you type.
This website
The page you are reading is made of static files. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party fonts or scripts: no request leaves this domain.
The only things kept in your browser are your theme preference and your language choice, in the browser's own local storage. They never leave your device and they disappear when you clear the site's data. Because there is no tracking of any kind, there is no consent banner to click.
Like any website, the provider serving these files may log requests (IP address, time, page) for technical and security reasons. That belongs to the hosting provider, not to Klaito.
Language detection
The first time you land on the home page, the site reads the language your browser reports and, if there is a translation for it, sends you to that version. The check happens inside your browser: there is no IP lookup, no geolocation service and nothing recorded about it. Your choice from the language menu always wins and is remembered.
Your rights
Since neither the app nor this site collects personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on your behalf — your clips are yours and never leave your machine. If you have any question about this policy, write to us and we will answer.
